Dr. Raymond M. Girgis, M.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Raymond M. Girgis is the Medical Director of the Center for Eyecare. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Girgis is licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Girgis graduated from the prestigious and highly competitive six-year combined undergraduate/graduate medical school program at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada, where he was born. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital, which is part of the University of Pittsburgh. He went on to complete a residency in Ophthalmology at Loyola University in Chicago. During his residency, he was chosen as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Girgis is one of a select few physicians in the country who have been board-certified in Ophthalmology and Internal Medicine. This has afforded him a unique perspective on the evaluation and treatment of eye health as it relates to the whole person. His broad fund of knowledge and experience is unparalleled in the region.
Dr. Girgis has a strong commitment to education. He takes the time and makes it a priority to educate patients and their families. He also educates colleagues and has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Girgis has performed thousands of surgical and laser procedures.
